Pawnee Buttes

The Pawnee Buttes lie in the midst of our National Grassland and consist of 173,000 acres of prarie, desert and two Buttes. Rising like towers of the Southwest the Buttes stand alone. Surrounded by nothing but grass and sage brush the air is still, except for maybe the cry of a hawk or the howl of a coyote.
